Intensity + Diversity = An effective use of your time
'One-to-ones':
Imagine having a long conversation with a Canadian business person, followed by an interesting chat with an American accountant, and then a journalist from Australia. This is a typical morning at Englishhausen. During the course, every student has a one-to-one conversations (50 minutes in duration) with each of the group's 'Anglos'.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner
The English immersion continues through all three daily meals: a buffet breakfast and three-course lunch and dinner. Two students are accompanied by two 'Anglos' at each table; together, they converse about anything and everything in a casual small group atmosphere.
Study and free time
One and a half hours are reserved every afternoon for individual free time. You may choose to divide this between the hotel's extensive facilities and the beautiful countryside, reviewing the grammar notes provided by our staff at the beginning of the week. Although the course emphasis is firmly placed on confronting English in real-life situations, it will also be useful for you to revise the new material you will be gathering. Students at Englischhausen won't have to wait long to start putting what they have learnt into practice!

'Conference calls'
A conference call is a telephone conversation between three or more people at different locations and often takes the form of interactive meetings between clients, colleagues and associates. Barriers to understanding include the lack of visual clues, diversity of accents, and overlapping dialogue. Students at Englischhausen have the opportunity to practise dealing with these elements, playing out various real-life scenarios with a group of their 'Anglo' counterparts.

Presentations
Presenting a project or expressing ideas to the public is never easy, and having to do it in a second language can be quite a daunting prospect. This aspect of the Englischhausen course aims to develop confidence and technique in this area. After attending a special seminar, students will put their skills to the test by planning two presentations and then delivering them to the rest of the group.
'Meeting room' / theatre
A course priority is for everyone to be happy and relaxed, despite the busy schedule. This is because when students are feeling positive, they are able to absorb more English. So every evening at the 'meeting room' session, students get to watch or participate in some light-hearted entertainment such as theatre skits, role-plays and jokes; all of it in English of course!
